I'd like to make note that Rutgers beat Ohio by exactly 17, giving me a push.I do realize, however, the issue that this presents: if I had picked either team, I would have lost on the push as well...Since I've hit two pushes so far, and house rules say push = loss, I'll take that on the chin. I am, however, going to request some clarification on lines etc, and what should happen if two teams are seperated by the spread exactly.Do folks who picked either teams take a loss?
yep. had you gone either way, you'da lost. sucks, but it'll hit all of us sooner or later.
Call me 13-8 on the weekend. stupid splitting NFL games...will update the totals tomorrow.
Push equals loss is something we threw in back when a loss didn't mean anything. Going by percentages makes a win a +1 and a loss a -1. Not picking is a 0. The way it worked last year in most contests, a win was a +1 and a loss or a push were both 0 for scorekeeping purposes since there were a set number of picks. I'm not saying we should modify a long standing rule after the fact (especially since I keep forgetting to throw in my own picks for the week) but it does change the landscape considerably to have push equals loss in a percentage-based system.Since it hasn't happened yet, I'll take Pittsburg -2.5 and the over.
