Summer's On

And that means college football talk can start again.

Jmac rounds up some SEC previews from I'm A Realist including IAR's Georgia Bulldawg rundown.

I can almost taste the tailgate beer...

Here's some rough and early thoughts about how the SEC is going to shape up, totally too early:

SEC East

1. Florida
2. Georgia
3. South Carolina
4. Tennessee
5. Vanderbilt
6. Kentucky

SEC West

1. LSU
2. Auburn
3. Alabama
4. Arkansas
5. Miss State
6. Ole Miss

OK, now that you're mad at me, let me explain. The Western Division is going to come down to LSU vs Auburn. Whoever wins that game wins the West, and maybe has a shot at the National Title. Florida, Georgia and South Carolina end up in a three way tie for 1st place (UGA beats UF beats SCar beats UGA) and the tiebreak goes to Florida because they always get that tiebreak somehow. Georgia or Auburn ends up in a BCS at large this year, putting Missippi State into a bowl.

I'm not mad, but I am mightily confused so here's my prediction:

SEC East:
1. Florida
2. Georgia
3. Tennessee
4. South Carolina
5. Kentucky
6. Vanderbilt

SEC West:
1. Auburn
2. LSU
3. Alabama
4. Arkansas
5. Ole Miss
6. Mississippi State

How is Vandy going to finish ahead of anyone while their golden boy is riding the pine in Denver?

Can SCar pull off another big season (and by "big" I "not disappointing") again this year? Somehow I doubt it. Tennessee is going to wake up from their funk and retake their spot as one of the big three SEC East contenders.

LSU? I know out SEC West looks pretty similar but I really think that Bama is going to give LSU a run for their money this year. LSU has some talent but their coaching is decent at best while Auburn's coaching is pretty good now that they don't let Tubberville touch the offensive clipboard.

"UGA beats UF"? I think you reversed your teams there. UGA is going to be the lesser team from a talent perspective this year. THe only thing theycan hope for is for UF to want it less. Maybe Meyer will go gung-ho spread in Jacksonville but other than that, UF has this game won just like they always do.

I'll throw my hat into this ring...

SEC East:

1. Georgia
2. South Carolina
3. Florida
4. Tennessee
5. Kentucky
6. Vanderbilt

SEC West:

1. Auburn
2. Arkansas
3. LSU
4. Alabama
5. Mississippi State
6. Ole Miss

Yes, we're going to win the East again. And yes, we'll beat UF this year. The Cocks will beat Florida and Tennessee again, via 'ball-coach-magic', and finish second in the East. Tennessee wins 7 this year to earn a trip to scenic Shreveport.

In the west, Auburn is loaded, again. Going to be a tough match playing them twice. Arkansas showed glimpses last year of the total team speed that they possess. This is the year they break through for 9 wins. The rest of the West is a war of attrition. Somebody has to lose...
